- Abstract:
- This thesis investigates the effects of psychological treatments on functioning in people with schizophrenia. In a systematic literature search, 44 randomized controlled trials with usable data were identified and included in the meta-analysis. Functioning was measured with various scales. Overall, psychological treatments were found to be superior to the control conditions (SMD = -0.36). Researcher allegiance and the nature of control groups had considerable influence on the effect sizes.

- Diese Dissertation untersucht die Effekte psychologischer Interventionen auf das Funktionsniveau bei Menschen mit Schizophrenie. In einer systematischen Literaturrecherche wurden 44 randomisierte kontrollierte Studien mit nutzbaren Daten identifiziert und in die Meta-Analyse eingeschlossen. Insgesamt zeigte sich eine Überlegenheit psychologischer Interventionen gegenüber den Kontrollgruppen (SMD = -0.36).
