- Bei Laparotomien stellt der Platzbauch eine bedeutende Komplikation dar, die meist eine erneute Operation erfordert. Diese führt zu einer verlängerten Liegedauer und einer erhöhten Mortalität, was auch eine ökonomische Belastung für das Gesundheitssystem darstellt. Diese am MRI durchgeführte Studie analysiert die Risikofaktoren, die das Auftreten eines Platzbauches und Wundinfekten begünstigen. Darüber hinaus wurde der mögliche therapeutische Nutzen eines VAC-Systems untersucht.

- After laparotomies, the postoperative fascial dehiscence is a significant complication, which is associated with revision surgery. This leads to a prolonged hospital stay and increased mortality, which is also an economic burden for the health care system. This study conducted at MRI analyzes the risk factors that promote the occurrence of fascial dehiscence and wound infections. In addition, the potential therapeutic benefit of VAC-systems was evaluated.
