- Pollen allergenicity depends on the allergen matrix, which consists of pollen-derived immunomodulatory substances and associated microbes, such as bacteria and fungi. This matrix shapes the immune response towards pollen allergens and is itself subject to environmental influences. Lastly, the individual microbial environment likely plays an important role by providing a protective milieu in healthy individuals and inflammatory stimuli in allergic patients.

- Pollenallergenität beruht auf der Allergenmatrix. Diese besteht aus immunmodulierenden Substanzen und Mikroben, die von Umwelteinflüssen wie Klimawandel und Umweltverschmutzung abhängig sind. Zusammen verändern sie die gegen Pollenallergene gerichtete Immunantwort und fördern die allergische Sensibilisierung/Entzündung. Außerdem könnte das individuelle Mikrobiom von Gesunden zum Schutz vor Allergien beitragen, während es bei Allergikern entzündliche Signale sendet.
