- Abstract:
- In this thesis, the functions of transcription factor Snail in the tumor-stroma crosstalk of pancreatic cancer were studied using mouse models. Snail expression creates an inflammatory microenvironment in early tumor development and shapes the immune landscape of pancreatic cancer. Severe combined immunodeficiency significantly delays Snail-promoted pancreatic cancer development, which could provide insights into new therapeutic solutions to this deadly disease.

- In dieser Arbeit wurden die Funktionen des Transkriptionsfaktors Snail in der Tumor-Stroma-Interaktion des Pankreaskarzinoms mittels Mausmodelle untersucht. Snail-Expression schafft in der frühen Tumorentwicklung eine entzündliche Mikroumgebung und prägt die Immunlandschaft des Pankreaskarzinoms. Eine schwere kombinierte Immundefizienz verzögert die Entwicklung von Snail-geförderten Pankreaskarzinomen erheblich, was Einblicke in neue Therapien für diese tödliche Krankheit geben könnte.
