Eine Assoziation des C-terminal-Agrin-Fragments (CAF), einem Spaltprodukt des Agrins mit der Nierenfunktion wurde bereits in einer Kohorte von Nierentransplantierten festgestellt. In dieser Arbeit konnte bei 105 nierentransplantierten Patienten erstmals ein Zusammenhang von frühen post-Transplantations-Serum-CAF-Spiegeln mit der Gesamtmortalität und der Verdopplung einer Proteinurie nachgewiesen werden. Zusätzlich ergab sich für CAF hinsichtlich Transplantatversagens und kombinierten Endpunkten ein präziserer prognostischer Wert als für die eGFR. CAF könnte folglich ein geeigneter neuer Biomarker für die frühe postoperative Risikoabschätzung des Langzeitoutcomes und die Prognose einer Proteinurie nach Nierentransplantation sein.      «

C-terminal agrin fragment (CAF), cleavage product of agrin, was previously correlated with kidney function in renal transplant patients. In this work we found a statistically significant association of early post transplantation serum CAF levels of 105 renal transplant recipients with all-cause mortality and doubling of proteinuria. Concerning the prognostic value for graft failure and combined endpoints CAF outperformed eGFR being more precise. Taken together CAF appears to be a new promising biomarker for the early postoperative risk assessment of long-term-outcome and the unfavorable development of proteinuria in renal transplant patients.     «
