Abstract:
Die vorliegende Arbeit untersuchte mittels transkranieller Dopplersonographie die Prävalenz mikroembolischer Signale (MES). Ziel war es die Mikroembolidetektion (MED) im routinemäßigen klinischen Alltag zu analysieren und im Hinblick auf weitere Schlaganfallereignisse zu untersuchen. Die MED kann aufgrund ihrer geringen Sensitivität und der fehlenden eindeutigen Zuordnung zur Schlaganfallätiologie nicht für den routinemäßigen klinischen Gebrauch bei allen Schlaganfallpatienten empfohlen werden.

The present work examined the prevalence of micro embolic signals ( MES) by transcranial doppler sonography. The aim was to analyze the potential benefits of the micro emboli detection (MED ) in routine clinical practice with regard to additional ischemic stroke events. The MED can not be recommended for routine clinical use in all stroke patients due to their low sensitivity and the lack of clear assignment to stroke etiology.
