Abstract:
Gang-Freezing ist ein prävalentes Symptom der Parkinsonkrankheit, das zu Einbußen an Lebensqualität und zu Stürzen führen kann. Die vorliegende Dissertation untersucht Reliabilität und Validität einer neu entwickelten klinischen Beurteilungsskala zur Abbildung dieser Störung in zwei Patientenkollektiven. Das neue Instrument erweist sich als objektiv, reliabel und valide, und kann somit sinnvoll zur Erfassung der Schwere von Gangfreezing eingesetzt werden.

Freezing of gait (FOG) is a prevalent symptom of Parkinson’s disease, which leads to losses of quality of life, and potentially to falls. The dissertation examines the reliability, the validity, and the responsiveness of a newly developed FOG rating score in two patient cohorts. The new instrument is shown to be a objective, reliable, and valid tool, and can reasonably be used to assess the severity of FOG.
