- Abstract:
- Die retrospektive Studie untersuchte 152 an einer Endophthalmitis erkrankte Augen im Hinblick auf Ätiologie, Klinik, Therapie und Visusentwicklung. Über die gesamte Studienpopulation waren die Visusverläufe gleichwertig, unabhängig davon, ob die 20- oder 23-Gauge Vitrektomie zum Einsatz kam. Eine 67 Augen, mit postoperativer Endophthalmitis und definiertem Keimspektrum einschließende Subgruppenanalyse, zeigte die Überlegenheit der 23-Gauge Vitrektomie im Hinblick auf die Visusdifferenz.
- Translated abstract:
- The retrospective study assesses 152 eyes suffering from endophthalmitis considering etiology, clinical signs, treatment and the development of visual acuity. Across the study population the course of visual acuity was equal regardless of 20- or 23-gauge vitrectomy treatment. A subgroup analysis comprising 67 eyes aflicted with postoperative endophthalmitis and a defined spectrum of germs, proved the superiority of the 23-gauge vitrectomy concerning the difference in visual acuity.
