Abstract:
Im biomedizinischen Bereich spielt die Haftung von Proteinen an Oberflächen eine große Rolle. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurden einzelne Polymere kovalent an eine Kraftmikroskop-Spitze angebunden und von Oberflächen in wässriger Umgebung abgelöst. Damit konnte gezeigt werden, dass die Stärke der Haftung durch zum Beispiel Salz, pH oder Polarität nur geringfügig verändert wird. Erst eine (Zer)störung der Hydratstruktur des Wassers durch andere Lösungsmittel kann die Haftkraft entscheidend verändern.

In the field of biomedicine the adhesion of proteins on surfaces plays an important role. In this study single polymers are covalently attached to the tip of an atomic force microscope and detached from surfaces in aqueous environment. It is shown that the magnitude of adhesion changes only marginally with salt, pH or polarity. Crucial changes in the adhesion force can be achieved by disturbing the structure of hydration water by other solvents.
