Abstract:
A robust velocity stability augmentation system was developed for the CoAX 600/2D coaxial-rotor helicopter to enable safe testing of a fly-by-wire system on an optionally piloted variant of the aircraft, developed by Piasecki Aircraft Corporation. The control law design and subsequent stability analysis were based on a validated nonlinear model of the CoAX 600 rotorcraft.
