Die Skulpturengruppe von Jesus als Knaben, Maria und Joseph befindet sich in einem Schrein. Die Figuren sind partiell gefasst; die Schreinaußenseiten sind schwarz, das Schreininnere ist bemalt. Kunsthistorische Aspekte stellen die Auseinandersetzung mit der Bildhauerfrage (Georg Petel?) und die Erläuterung des neuzeitlichen Bildtypus’ des Heiligen Wandels dar. Mittels kunsttechnologischer Untersuchungen werden die Werktechnik von Skulpturen und Schrein bestimmt. Auf der Basis der kunsthistorischen und kunsttechnologischen Ergebnisse werden die Bildhauerfrage und die Frage der ursprünglichen Zusammengehörigkeit von Skulpturengruppe und Schrein erneut aufgegriffen.     «

The sculptures of Jesus as a boy, Mary and Joseph are in a shrine. The figures are partial polychrome painted; the shrine`s exterior is black, the interior is painted. Art historical aspects discuss the authorship of the sculptures (Georg Petel?) and illustrate the modern type of art of “Heiliger Wandel”. With the aid of a technical examination the technique of the sculptures and the shrine are determined. On the basis of the results of the art historical and technical examination the question of the authorship of the sculptures is taken up and the question of the original composition of the sculptures and the shrine is discussed.     «
