- Im Schloss Bad Homburg vor der Hohe bei Frankfurt a. M. sind in der ehemaligen Wohnungvon KAISER Willhelm II. zahlreiche Bestandteile einer historischen Elektroinstallation erhalten. Diese stammen von 1917, als die Elektrifizierung von der Firma SIEMENS & HALSKE grundlegend überarbeitet wurde. Dies belegt neben anderen Archivalien ein Elektrifizierungsplan von 1917 des gesamten Schlosses. Bei einer geplanten Neukonzeption der Ausstellungsräume soll auch die historische Elektroinstallation miteinbezogen werden. Dazu war im Vorfeld eine Untersuchung und Bestandsaufnahme notwendig, die mit dieser Arbeit vorgelegt wird. Es konnten Materialien und Technik der Installationselemente und Leitungen weitgehend geklärt werden. Um einen Überblick zum Stand der Technik von 1917 zu erhalten, wurden weitere Gebäude mit historischen Elektroinstallationen untersucht. Archivalienfunde belegen eine erstmalige Elektrifizierung des Schlosse für 1897, von der jedoch keine Teile erhalten sind. Weiter bietet die Arbeit einen Überblick zur Geschichte der Elektrotechnik von 1800 bis zum Ersten Weltkrieg sowie zu elektrischem Strom und zu den wichtigsten Bestandteilen einer Elektroinstallation. Ausführlich werden Material und Aufbau historischer Starkstromleitungen für Haustechnik und die Verlegung in Rohrsystemen behandelt.

- In Schloss Bad Homburg vor der Hohe near Frankfurt a. M. in the former rooms of the EMPEROR Willhelm II. there are numerous elements of an historic electrical installation wellpreserved. Those have their origin in 1917 when SIEMENS & HALSKE revised a former electrification. This is proved in addition to other archival documents by an electrification plan of 1917 of the entire castle. With the rearrangement of the display it is intended to include the historic electrical installation into the presentation. For this purpose a research and the taking of an inventory was necessary, which are presented in this diploma thesis. Thereby it succeeded to clear up details about the material and technology of the installation elements and wires. Also other buildings with historic electrification have been visited and researched. An additional archival enquiry provided documents, which prove the first electrification of the castle for the year 1897, of which there are unfortunately no elements preserved. Furtermore the paper contains an overview about the history of electrotechnology from 1800 to the First World War, as well as about the electric current and the most important elements of an electrical installation. In particular the material and composition of the heavy current wires for building equipment and appliances and the laying in pipe systems are discussed very detailed.
