Abstract:: The understanding of runtime performance dynamics is important for the development and tuning of HPC applications. This thesis presents three techniques for this purpose: adaptive source-to-source instrumentation, a scheme for online dynamic profile processing and an automatic performance dynamics analysis strategy. These allow adaptive reduction of measurement overheads as well as a fully automatic time-dimension-scalable analysis of runtime performance dynamics properties.
Translated abstract:: Leistungsdynamik spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Entwicklung und Optimierung von HPC-Anwendungen. Diese Dissertation präsentiert hierzu drei Techniken: eine adaptive source-to-scource Instrumentierung, eine online Verarbeitung von dynamischen Pfadprofilen und eine automatische Strategie zur Analyse der Leistungsdynamik. Diese Techniken ermöglichen eine Reduzierung des Messaufwands und eine vollautomatische und skalierbare Analyse des dynamischen Leistungsverhaltens.
