Abstract:
Within this talk a partitioned algorithm for fluid-structure interaction problems is presented. Particularly the interaction of thin-walled structures such as shells or membranes and incompressible flows are considered. The strong coupling approach is second order accurate and stable. A free surface formulation is included in the algorithm. The artificial added mass effect is emphasized in particular. Thus the neeed for fluid-structure iterations is explained.
