Here I characterized the working mechanism of polyP in vitro using a-synuclein, an amyloid protein involved in Parkinson’s Disease. I demonstrated that formation of a polyP-a-synuclein fiber complex significantly reduces the internalization of amyloids into neuronal cells, contributing to the cytoprotective effect of polyP. In vitro studies using the unrelated amyloid protein tau revealed that polyP’s interaction profile is strongly dependent on the amyloid protein studied. }, keywords = {}, note = {}, url = {https://mediatum.ub.tum.de/1521620}, }
