- Die intrazelluläre Kalziumkonzentration in glatten Gefäßmuskelzellen ist von großer Bedeutung für den Tonus von Blutgefäßen. Sie spielt eine wichtige Rolle bei der Kontraktion und Relaxierung der Gefäßmuskulatur und wird durch verschiedene Mechanismen reguliert. - Translated abstract:
- The intracellular calcium concentration in vascular smooth muscle cells is important for the contraction and relaxation of the blood vessels and is regulated by several mechanisms. A crucial mediator of vasorelaxation could be the recently identified protein IRAG. In this work, two mouse lines with a conventional or a conditional mutation of the IRAG gene were generated. These mice provide new possibilities to study the physiological and patho-physiological function of the IRAG gene.
