A series of new 2,3-dihydrofurane derivatives were synthesized via palladium-catalized Heck-reaction. The obtained polymers were polymerized by a cationic mechanism and gave new freestanding films, which can be used as photopolymerizable coatings, to replace acrylat-systems. By integrating different functional groups in the polymers the controling of the thermal and filmbuilding properties were possible. The polymers could be obtained in good yields and they could be solved in a lot of different organic solvents such as chloroform.. It is also shown, that 2,3-dihydrofurane could be polymerized by a methatetic and a initiaor free mechanism. The obtained polymers have many functional groups incoporated, so that there were a lot of possible applications.
