The realization of synergies by means of integrating globally distributed production structures is gaining more and more importance for producing companies, especially when taking into account the ongoing globalization and increasing competition. In this context, the design of an optimal organizational structure represents one of the most relevant success factors.
Based on a conceptual model, the objective of this work is to analyze which organizational structures and rules lead to the highest possible degree of synergy realization in global production systems.
