Ausgiebige Tumorresektionen führen oftmals zu einem ausgedehnten Defekt mit gravierenden ästhetischen und funktionellen Defekten im sichtbaren Kopf-Hals-Bereich. Das Ziel dieser Studie war die klinische Überprüfung der Anwendung des osteomyokutanen Fibulatransplantats zur Unterkieferrekonstruktion unter funktionellem und ästhetischem Aspekt. Im Studienzeitraum wurden 54 Patienten nach mikrochirurgischen Fibulatransplantationen nachuntersucht. Es erfolgte eine klinische Prüfung anhand von Fragebögen, manueller Untersuchung, radiologischer Untersuchung sowie einer Gewebespektrometrie und Laser Doppler Flussmessung. Anhand der Ergebnisse dieser Studie kann gefolgert werde, dass dem osteokutanem Fibulatransplantat für die ästhetische und funktionelle Rehabilitation der orofazialen Region und damit der Lebensqualität der Patienten große Bedeutung beigemessen werden kann.     «

Extensive resections of floor of mouth cancers may lead to extended defects with enormous esthetical and functional disabilities. The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical outcome and aesthetical results after mandibular reconstructions with free fibular flaps. 54 patients were reviewed retrospectively, based on their clinical records. Clinical examination, questionaire, radiological, micro-lightguide spectrophotometry and laser doppler flowmetry measurements were included in the study. The results showed that the functional and aesthetical outcome of reconstruction of orofacial region with osteocutaneus fibula are perceived as satisfactory by the patients and surgeon.     «
