The aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical outcome and aesthetical results after mandibular reconstructions with free fibular flaps.
54 patients were reviewed retrospectively, based on their clinical records. Clinical examination, questionaire, radiological, micro-lightguide spectrophotometry and laser doppler flowmetry measurements were included in the study.
The results showed that the functional and aesthetical outcome of reconstruction of orofacial region with osteocutaneus fibula are perceived as satisfactory by the patients and surgeon.
