Methode der Datenerhebung:
Synchrotron radiation-based micro-computed tomography of Aspergillus niger pellets was performed at the Imaging Beamline P05 operated by the Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon at the storage ring PETRA III (Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron—DESY, Hamburg, Germany). Imaging was performed at a photon energy of 18 keV with 30 ms exposure time per projection. For each tomographic scan, 2401 projections equally spaced between 0 and 180° were recorded using a 20 MP CMOS camera system.
Beschreibung:
The dataset contains 19,940 binarized and 16-bit grayscale 3D images from 26 sampling times from two 48-hour submerged cultivations of the filamentous fungus Aspergillus niger. The cultivations were performed in shake flasks with identical cultivation parameters. At least 173 and up to 1277 3D images per sampling time from both flasks are provided. The 3D images show the growth of Aspergillus niger pellets starting from 9 h until 48 h. Please note that for growth analysis of Aspergillus niger pellets, the 3D images were divided into regular pellets (normally grown pellets) and artifacts (broken pellets, impurities from the medium). All pellet objects (regular pellets and artifacts) are included in the provided dataset. The voxel size is 1.28 µm. The individual 3D images of the pellet objects are stored in Matlab cell arrays for each sampling time. Two cell arrays with pellet objects are provided for each sampling time, except for flask A, 11 h. A detailed description of the segmentation of individual pellet objects from synchrotron radiation-based micro-computed tomography (SR-µ-CT) can be found in Müller et al. (2023)
