The thesis presented here is a result of the studies carried out in the Department of Structural Research at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried. The work has been divided into two parts. The first project is focused on the X-ray structure determination of the dimerization domain of the fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 oncogene partner. The second project concerned the biochemical studies of the retinoblastoma protein (pRb) and its interaction with the proteins involved in the regulation of the cell cycle and cell differentiation.     «

Die hier vorgestellte Arbeit ist das Ergebnis von Forschungsstudien in der Abteilung Strukturforschung am Max Planck Institut für Biochemie, Martinsried. Die Arbeit unterteilt sich in zwei Blöcke. Das erste Projekt befasst sich mit der Lösung der Röntgenstruktur der Dimerisierungsdomäne des Fibroblast Wachstumsfaktor Rezeptor 1 (FGFR1) Oncogen Partner (FOP). Das Zweite behandelt biochemische Untersuchungen am Retinoblastoma Protein (pRb) und dessen Interaktion mit Proteinen der Zellzyklus Regulation und der Zelldifferenzierung.     «
