Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are essential for energy storage, but graphite anodes limit their energy density. This work includes two studies on lithium metal batteries (LMBs). First, LiNO₃ additives in ester-based electrolytes were used to tailor solvation structures, stabilize SEI/CEI layers, and improve cycling stability. Second, density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics simulations identified new diluents for localized high-concentration electrolytes, accelerating the development of advanced LMB electrolytes.
