Translated abstract:
The welding temperature plays an important role in friction stir welding (FSW), because it significantly influences the weld properties. In this thesis, a welding temperature control system for FSW was developed and experimentally tested. Subsequently, the benefit of the welding temperature control system for FSW was demonstrated at a high strength aluminum alloy. Finally, it was shown that for FSW an indirect welding temperature control via the process torque is feasible.
