As part of the dissertation "Social Media Communication in Amateur Football", a survey of the social media managers of the 21 state associations of the German Football Association (DFB) and a content analysis of the Facebook and Instagram channels of the state associations during the 2021/22 season were carried out. For the theoretical positioning, approaches of organizational communication and public relations in the field of sports as well as social media PR were used. In addition, a focus was placed on association communication and the dialogue orientation of the state associations.
