Abstract:
The mixed car body combines metals such as steel and aluminum to reduce weight and increase performance. Joining plays a central role, especially in the transition zone. In this thesis, solid-liquid compound sand casting is extended by inductive preheating. It improves metallic continuity in the transition zone, thereby increasing the joint strength. The methodology is extended to aluminum-aluminum joints. The focus is on the technological development and characterization of the joining process.
