This publication aims to demonstrate the change of the surgical treatment of coxale femur fractures, espacially after the intriduction of intramedullar osteosynthesis (e.g. Gamma-Nagel). Therefore in a period of 8 years the treatment of all fractures (n = 747) have been viewed on the basis of patients recorded retrospectively. The change of the process data (implant, data of operation, perioperative management) and result data (hospitalisation, komplications, postoperative mobilisation, necessary care, postinterventional treatmant). In the reviewed period a reduction of th pre- and postoperative hospitalisation, a increased need of blood transfusions has been found coming with a continuity of the loss of mobility in face of an increased age of the patients and a decreased number of decubitus ulcera and new appeared need of home care.
