1002 Patientinnen wurden in der Zeit von 1981 bis 1990 in der strahlentherapeutischen Abteilung des Klinikums Passau adjuvant bestrahlt. Anhand der vorliegenden Daten konnte die Wichtigkeit der Prognosefaktoren Tumorgröße und axillärer Lymphknotenstatus bestätigt werden. Sowohl für den Hormonrezeptorstatus als auch für das Grading konnte die Relevanz nicht gefunden werden. Das Alter unter 40 Jahren ist ein Risikofaktor für das Auftreten eines Lokalrezidivs. Die Ergebnisse stützen die Meinung, dass ein Lokalrezidiv Ausgangspunkt für eine Fernmetastasierung sein kann. Die Lokalrezidivrate ist stark korreliert mit der Primärtumorgröße und dem Intervall zwischen Operation und Lokalrezidiv. Es gibt Hinweise, dass die Sternalfeldbestrahlung zu einer Erhöhung der Rate interkurrenter Todesfälle führt.     «

The available database confirmed the importance of the tumour size and the involvement of axillary lymph nodes. The condition of the hormonal receptor and the histopathological grading couldn't be found to be relevant. Being below 40 years is a risk for local recurrences. This data supports the assumption that local recurrences could be the beginning of a distant dissemination. The rate of local recurrences strongly depends on the size of the tumour and the time between operation and local relapse. There is evidence that internal mammary treatment increases slightly the rate of intercurrent deaths.     «
