Between March 3, 1995 and April 4, 1998 fifty patients received a Revisal-M-femoral stem in the hospital of Dachau. A total of 56 femoral stems were implanted. Nine patients with a petrochanteric fracture of the femur deceased due to unrelated causes during the study period and could not be evaluated completely. Of the remaining 41 patients, because of very old age, only 28 cases could be evaluated completely. Postoperatively, only sujective satisfaction and analgesia were improved. Eight stems required revision surgery. Nevertheless, the Revisal-M-femoral stem has its merits.
