This study evaluated weather fluorescent labels can be used in an new in vitro model for future visualization and analysis of osteblastic cell migration. Therefore we examined dye efficiency, cellular toxicity, relative gene expression and the time-label-loss. Primary Human osteoblasts showed a concentration-dependent cellular toxicity and less suitable labels than MG-63 cells. The best fluorescent dye concerning labelling efficiency and cell visualization was CT red. Both, human osteoblasts and MG-63 cells, showed a significant reduction of relativ gene expression due to labeling.
