While time-domain simulations of electromagnetic waves have been performed in the past often by finite difference schemes the use of unstructured grids for complicated geometries changes the situation. Finite volume, finite elements or the combination in the discontinuous Galerkin approach allow unstructured grids as well as higher order accuracy in a straightforward way. Based on the evolution equations with a forcing of the divergence constraints a review of these different approaches is presented in this chapter.     «
