- Diese Doktorarbeit beschreibt den Langzeitverlauf sowie die molekulargenetischen Ursachen der Erkrankung aller Patienten (insgesamt elf), die zwischen 1987-2004 im Klinikum Schwabing mit einem KHI diagnostiziert und behandelt wurden bzw. werden. Der Großteil der Patienten wurde mittels subtotaler Pankreatektomie behandelt und entwickelte im Verlauf einen Diabetes mellitus. - Translated abstract:
- This doctoral thesis describes the long-term outcome and molecular characteristics of all patients (eleven in total) with congenital hyperinsulinism born between 1987-2004 and treated at the Schwabing Children’s Hospital. The majority of patients underwent subtotal pancreatectomy and developed diabetes mellitus at a median age of 10.5 years. Two out of eleven patients have developmental delays. Mutations in the ABCC8 Gen were the most common cause for the disease.
