Aquired or congenital pathological prolongation of the QT interval in electrocardiography (Long QT syndrome) increases the risk of ventricular arrhythmia with potentially fatal outcome. In this dissertation a method for continuous perioperative monitoring of the QT intervall was established, the most important formulas for heart rate correction of the QT intervall were analyzed, individual parameters, e.g. medication, sex, age and body mass index were evaluated and an anesthesiological management and monitoring for perioperative care of patients with Long QT syndrome were developed.
