Computersysteme sind heutzutage in vielen medizinischen Bereichen unentbehrlich. Da deren Benutzung häufig sehr komplex ist, besteht der Bedarf nach Softwaresystemen mit einfacher Benutzerführung. Hauptthematik der Dissertation war die Klärung der Frage, inwieweit durch konsequente Anwendung ergonomischer Richtlinien Benutzeroberflächen für medizinische Computersysteme geschaffen oder verbessert werden können, deren Konzeption, Gestaltung und Funktionalität den Erfordernissen einer intuitiven Bedienung durch Ärzte gerecht werden.Im Rahmen der Projekte TOXINFO (Datenbank zur Recherche von Giftinformationen) und ODITEB (WWW-basiertes, digitales Lehrbuch) wurden die jeweiligen Benutzeroberflächen einer ergonomischen Analyse anhand von allgemeinen Richtlinien, Methoden aus Farbenlehre und Iconic, sowie dem Keystroke-Modell unterzogen. Das neu entwickelte Bedienungskonzept und das Design von ODITEB wurden darüber hinaus anhand von Fragebögen an einer studentischen Stichprobe evaluiert.     «

Today Computer systems are indispensable in many medical areas. In a lot of cases the usage of applications is quite complicated and challenging, which causes problems for medical staff. Due to the fact that doctors are mostly not computer specialists, there is a requirement for developing new applications under consideration of ergonomical factors, which gives the end user a tool easy to use. The key question of this work is to analyse if applications, where the concept and realisation is developed under strict consideration of ergonomical factors, will be used “intuitively”.The investigation was done on two projects TOXINFO, a database with medical information about poisons and ODITEB, a distributed case-based Internet textbook for tumor diagnosis. The user interface of both systems was analysed based on general, standardised and ergonomical guidelines (DIN 66234 and ISO 9241), methods for the usage of colours and iconic and the keystroke-level model (calculation model for user performance time with interactive systems). The new developed concept and design of the user interface ODITEB was additionally evaluated by questionnaires to students.     «
