Abstract:
Hsp26, das bekannteste sHsps der Baeckerhefe, liegt unter physiologischen Bedingungen als inaktive, oligomere Speicherform vor. Temperaturerhoehung fuehrt zur Dissoziation des 24mers in eine dimere Spezies. Nach Rueckkehr zu physiologischen Bedingungen reassoziieren Hsp26 Dimere zu einer neuen oligomeren, teilaktivierten Spezies mit identischer Sekundaer- und Tertiaerstruktur, aber leicht veraenderter Quartaerstruktur. Under physiological conditions Hsp26, the best known small heat shock protein from the baker's yeast exists as an inactive oligomeric storage form. Upon heat shock Hsp26 dissociates into a dimeric species. Return of physiological conditions leads to the reassociation of the Hsp26 dimers into a new oligomeric, partly activated species with identical secondary and tertiary structure but sligthly different quarternary structure.
