Dynamic properties of tall timber structures under wind-induced vibration
Abstract:
This paper describes a project that aims at evaluating the dynamic properties of tall timber structures under wind-induced vibration in serviceability level from a series of onsite measurements on existing multi-storey timber buildings and timber towers. Ambient vibration measurement was carried out on nine timber towers and three tall timber buildings to derive dynamic parameters including natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes.
