Implementation and Comparison of the Finite Element Formulation for Different Beam Theories 
Abstract:
In this paper two mathematical models, namely the shear indeformable Euler-Bernoulli beam model and the shear-deformable Timoshenko beam model, are presented. Both methods are programmed with the use of MATLAB and the resulting deflections are compared to the exact analytical solutions for different cases of boundary conditions.
