Abstract:
The suitability of ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) as a material for driven piles is demonstrated in this contribution. The effect of fibre content and type on the impact resistance of UHPC was investigated. Impact resistance increased with the amount of micro steel fibres 0.16 mm in diameter. Replacement of the micro steel fibres by crimped fibres with a larger diameter reduced the impact resistance of UHPC.
