- Diese Studie beschäftigt sich mit den Auswirkungen extremen Ausdauersportes auf die endotheliale Funktion von Marathon- und Ultramarathonläufern. Grundsätzlich stellt körperliche Aktivität für das kardiovaskuläre System einen positiven Einflussfaktor dar. Fraglich ist jedoch ob extremer Ausdauersport zu schädigenden Effekten führen kann. Hierbei konnte gezeigt werden, dass bei extremen Ausdauersportlern keine frühzeitige endotheliale Dysfunktion messbar war.

- This study examins the impact of ultra endurance sports on the endothelial function of marathon- and ultramarathonrunners. Generally physical activity has an positive impact on the cardiovascular system. The question is if ultraendurance sports may lead to premature vascular damage. We were able to show that ultraendurance athletes show no premature endothelial dysfunction.
