- Die Arbeit befasst sich mit grundlegenden Architekturkonzepten und empirischen Untersuchungen im Hinblick auf neuartige, dezentrale und kooperative Information Retrieval Ansätze im verteilten Social Networking unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des raum-zeitlichen und sozialen Bezugs von Akteuren und Informationen. Dabei werden insbesondere Aspekte des natürlichen Vorgehens des Menschen bei der Informationsbeschaffung in realen sozialen Netzwerken modelliert.

- The thesis deals with fundamental architectural concepts and empirical studies in view of novel, decentralized, and cooperative approaches for information retrieval in distributed Social Networking with a special focus on spatio-temporal and social relations between actors and information-items. In particular, aspects of the natural human approach to information acquisition in real social networks are modelled.
