In den letzten 20 Jahren waren Feldbussysteme die wichtigsten Innovationstreiber in der Automatisierungstechnik. Inzwischen existieren mit Industrial Ethernet verbesserte Kommunikationssysteme, die sich durch sehr hohe Flexibilität, Leistungsfähigkeit aber auch Komplexität und damit Fehleranfälligkeit auszeichnen. Ihre Diagnose stellt somit eine besonders große Herausforderung dar. Eine Analyse ergab, dass keine existierende Lösung die diversen Anwenderbedürfnisse erfüllt. Die vorliegende Arbeit entwickelt daher das Konzept und die Architektur eines universellen Diagnosesystems für Industrial Ethernet. Als Grundlage für den Entwurf leitet sie eine Schichtenarchitektur ab, auf deren Basis eine sehr flexible Lösung entwickelt wurde. Sie kann anwendungsspezifisch konfiguriert und an die Expertise des Anwenders angepasst werden. Die Tragfähigkeit der Lösung ist durch eine umfassende Evaluierung im Rahmen eines Verbundprojektes nachgewiesen.     «

Over the last twenty years, fieldbus systems were the most important innovation drivers of the automation technology. Now Industrial Ethernet represents a new class of communication systems that are characterised by flexibility and performance but otherwise complexity and error-proneness. The diagnosis of these networks is a very big challenge. A study showed that no existing solution could cope with the diverse user requirements. Therefore, the thesis develops a concept and architecture for a universal diagnosis system for Industrial Ethernet. First, it deduces a layered architecture as a basis for the further design. Based on that fundamental the thesis develops a very flexible solution that can be extensively customized to the application and the expertise of the user. Finally, a comprehensive evaluation in a research project approved the achievement of objectives.     «
