Nach 3DCRT des Prostatakarzinoms in kurativer Intention können rektale Symptome und verschiedene Grade der rektalen Inkontinenz als Spät-Nebenwirkungen auftreten. Nicht alle rektalen Symptome sind jedoch auf die Bestrahlung zurückzuführen. Standardisierte Instrumente erlauben es, diese Nebenwirkungen subtil zu erfassen. Vergleichsdaten bei nicht strahlentherapierten Personen fehlen für diese Instrumente. Ziel der Arbeit ist es, detaillierte Informationen über rektale Symptome und fäkale Inkontinenz bei einem ausgewählten Probandenkollektiv über eine weite Altersspanne zu erwerben. Mögliche Einflussfaktoren auf die oben genannten Endpunkte werden erfasst. Das Probandenkollektiv wird bezüglich seiner Symptome und Inkontinenz verglichen mit einer Gruppe von Patienten, die zuvor eine 3DCRT ihres Prostatakarzinoms erhalten haben. Der Vergleich soll eine Abschätzung erlauben, inwieweit die bei den Patienten erhobenen Symptome auf die Bestrahlung zurückzuführen sind.      «

After three-dimensional (3D) conformal radiation of the prostate cancer, some of the patients may develop rectal symptoms and various degrees of rectal incontinence as a radiation induced late side effect that might interfere with the patient’s quality of life. Not all of the rectal symptoms are radiation induced. Standardised instruments allow a subtle detection of these side effects; however the frequency of the evaluated symptoms in persons without pelvic radiotherapy remains to be determined. The aim of this study is to get detailed information regarding rectal symptoms and fecal incontinence from a selected control group over a wide range of age. Possible influencing factors on rectal symptoms and fecal incontinence are also taken into account. The symptoms of the control group are compared to those of a group of patients, who have undergone 3D conformal prostate radiotherapy. The results may help to assess the proportion of intestinal symptoms that are truly radiation induced.     «
