Die Fragestellung inwieweit eine Korrelation zwischen Parodontitis in der Schwangerschaft und Frühgeburt bzw. vermindertem Geburtsgewicht besteht wurde anhand der aktuellen Literatur überprüft. Des Weiteren galt es zu beleuchten inwieweit eine Therapie dieser entzündlichen Erkrankung während der Schwangerschaft diesen Ereignissen entgegenwirken kann. Translated abstract:
By comparing different studies of the actual international literature this work proofs if an association between maternal periodontitis and preterm birth and/or low birth weight really exists, and in addition if a therapy during pregnancy has an effect on the outcome by increasing the length of the pregnancy and the baby’s weight. Furthermore it deals with one special pregnancy complication, the preeclampsia, and its possible association with maternal periodontitis, too.
