In this thesis, the structure of neutron-rich Calcium and Titanium isotopes were
tested in a knockout experiment carried out at the fragmentseparator FRS of GSI
(Darmstadt). The applicability of this method at high energy for nuclei around A=50
was shown. Cross sections and momentum distributions were measured. The results
support shell modell calculations, which predict a new shell closure for 54Ca.
