Mit dieser Arbeit wurde über einen Zeitraum von 14 Jahren in einer Single-Center-Studie eine umfangreiche retrospektive Datenanalyse von Patientenfällen bei akuter Vergiftung mit neueren Psychopharmaka durchgeführt. Es wurden Intoxikationen mit Citalopram (SSRI), Mirtazapin (Tetrazyklisches Antidepressivum), Venlafaxin (SNRI) als neuere Antidepressiva und Clozapin, Olanzapin und Quetiapin als atypische Neuroleptika (n=93) ausgewertet. Diese Arbeit zeigt, dass Intoxikationen mit neueren Psychopharmaka auch in deutlicher Überdosierung zwar zum Teil schwere Verläufe, in der Regel jedoch keine Todesfälle nach sich ziehen.      «

A retrospective single-center cohort study of patients who presented with acute intoxication with newer psychotropic drugs was conducted over a 14-year-period. Cases of poisoning with Citalopram (SSRI), Venlafaxine (SNRI), Mirtazapine (Tetracyclic Antidepressant) as newer antidepressants and Clozapine, Olanzapine and Quetiapine (atypical neuroleptics) (n=93) were analyzed. This study shows that intoxications with newer psychotropic drugs can cause severe clinical symptoms but are usually not lethal even in high overdose.      «
