Abstract:
A new mechanistic model has been developed to determine the Heat Transfer Coefficient in case of Direct Contact Condensation as the driving force for Water Hammer. This new model was generically implemented into two CFD codes, the commercial code ANSYS CFX and the open source environment openFOAM, and one system code, the German software ATHLET. As a final step validation simulations have been performed against measurement data of different two-phase flow experimental facilities.
