Abstract:
Forests optimized for wood production have lost their natural appearance. Strong decrements in the amounts and variety of dead wood have negatively affected saproxylic biodiversity. This thesis evaluates the drivers of saproxylic biodiversity at different scales and for different taxonomic groups. Based on the results, recommendations for a conservation-oriented management, and especially for a bark beetle management approach that simultaneously conserves biodiversity, are proposed.

Die Optimierung von Wäldern für die Holzproduktion führt zum Verlust des natürlichen Charakters von Wäldern. Die starke Abnahme von Menge und Vielfalt des Totholzes hat negative Auswirkungen auf die Biodiversität von xylobionten Organismen. Diese Studie evaluiert Einflussfaktoren auf die Biodiversität am Totholz für verschiedene taxonomische Gruppen. Die Ergebnisse ermöglichen Handlungsempfehlungen für den Naturschutz und für ein Borkenkäfermanagement, das die Biodiversität erhält.
