Abstract:: A lifestyle intervention program called nutritional prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus (NUPREDM) study was initiated to elucidate the prospects of type II diabetes prevention by means of a lifestyle intervention. Baseline and follow up urine samples of the NUPREDM study were analyzed by aid of a comprehensive non-targeted metabolomics approach including DIA-ICR-FT-MS and a HILIC-MS method, which was newly developed for this purpose. Multivariate data analysis revealed discriminant urinary metabolic patterns for insulin sensitive and insulin resistant patients. «

Translated abstract:: Ein Lebensstil Interventionsprogram genannt “nutritional prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus” (NUPREDM) wurde initiiert um die Erfolgsaussichten einer Typ II Diabetes Prävention mittels Lebensstil Intervention zu untersuchen. Urinproben, die vor und nach der Intervention gesammelt wurden, sind mittels breit angelegter und nicht zielgerichteten „Metabolomics“ Analyttik untersucht worden. Hierfür wurde direktinfusion Analytik mittels Fourier-Transform Ionenzyklotronresonanz Massenspektrometrie (DIA-ICR-FT-MS) sowie eine neu entwickelte hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatogratphy gekoppelt mit MS (HILIC-MS) Methode eingesetzt. Durch multivariate Datenanalyse konnten Metabolitmuster identifiziert werden welche Insulinresistente und Insulinempfindliche Patienten Unterscheiden. «
