Translated abstract:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an established procedure helping patients suffering from posttraumatic stress disorder. In this study, two hypotheses for the mode of action of EMDR treatment are discussed: working memory and dual attention.Neither of the tested hypotheses could be established as the primary mode of action. While the psychometric outcome data support the working memory, results of the psychophysiologic evaluation give more support to dual attention.
