Isolated fractures of the greater tuberosity of the humerus are an uncommon and frequently missed diagnosis. Mistreated and unrecognized, these fractures can cause chronic pain and diminished shoulder range of motion and function. Operative treatment options include open reduction and internal fixation, as well as arthroscopic-assisted reduction and internal fixation.
