- Abstract:
- Background: Endoluminal sphincter augmentation (ESA) can be a choice for selected patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Methods: ESA using EsophyX or GERDX were performed in 36 patients. PPI usage and GERD-related symptom were evaluated as outcome measures. Results: 75% EsophyX patients and 66.7% GERDX patients achieved both a PPI reduction and effective symptom control. Conclusion: ESA using EsophyX and GERDX can be safe and effective.

- Hintergrund: Die endoluminale Sphinkter Augmentation (ESA) ist für eine ausgewählte Patientengruppe mit einer gastroösophagealen Refluxerkrankung (GERD) eine mögliche Therapieoption. Methoden: Bei 36 Patienten wurde dieses Verfahren im Sinne einer EsophyX- oder GERDX-Intervention durchgeführt. Anschließend wurden die Ergebnisse anhand des Protonenpumpenblocker(PPI)-Gebrauchs und der GERD-assoziierten Symptome evaluiert.
